Teen Patti Game: How to Play, Hand Rankings & Popular Variations
Teen Patti is a classic three-card game, also commonly searched as 3 Patti or Indian Poker. If you are learning the game or exploring Teen Patti Master, these basics explain the table flow, card rankings and common terms without repeating the full rules guide.
How to Play Teen Patti
A standard round starts with the boot, followed by three cards for each player. Players can play blind without seeing their cards or seen after looking at them. Depending on the table rules, players can chaal, raise, pack or request a show or sideshow.
Blind vs Seen Play
Blind means continuing without looking at your cards, while seen means playing after checking your hand. The stake and table rules can vary, so players should understand the specific rules before starting a round.
Teen Patti Hand Rankings
Knowing the hand order is one of the most useful parts of learning Teen Patti. From strongest to weakest, the commonly used rankings are:
- Trail / Trio: three cards of the same rank.
- Pure Sequence: three consecutive cards of the same suit.
- Sequence / Run: three consecutive cards of mixed suits.
- Color / Flush: three cards of the same suit that are not a sequence.
- Pair: two cards of the same rank.
- High Card: a hand without a higher combination, compared by the highest card.
House rules can differ for some sequence orders and special variations, so check the table rules before playing. See the full Teen Patti rules and hand rankings guide for examples.
Common Teen Patti Terms
Boot is the opening contribution, chaal is a matching or continuing stake, pack means leaving the round, and show is the final comparison between eligible players. A sideshow may be available under particular table rules.
Popular Teen Patti Variations
Players may encounter variations such as Muflis, AK47, Joker, 999 and Best of Four. These variations can change how cards are ranked or used, so their individual rules should be checked before a round.
